  1. Going in education from no high school to high school to college halves your unemployment each time: http://bit.ly/oiNKz
  2. The good news: educated and already employed has paid off in this recession; the bad news: it's starting to get worse http://bit.ly/oiNKz
  3. iPhone is to the pc as Droid is to the cloud.
  4. @RaquelHirsch Hey Raquel, thanks for the retweet. That was exactly my intended audience.
  5. Gibson's First Law of Learning: You only get useful feedback at scale.
  6. @dmarsh Happy birthday!
  7. Daily Budget Question http://bit.ly/3sIY50
  8. @shelleypowers That's because they're trying to sell their SMedia services which have more value when SMedia is perceived as be-all-end-all.
  9. Wondering if my Droid, solid as it is, would make a useful implement in hand-to-hand combat.
  10. @shelleypowers I think sometimes with social media, people lose their common sense. One tweet on twitter does not make it accurate.
  11. @shelleypowers There's another point in here about crowd sourcing and that's your sampling strategy. Needs to be random with large n.
  12. @shelleypowers I'm pointing out that you have the option not to listen to the person doing that, a discouragement to them.
  13. I think the problem with Google maps may be that it is a centralized service, not taking sufficient advantage of local knowledge.
  14. @shelleypowers Another truth about social media is that you can tune into just what you want to, i.e., you can ignore early reports.
  15. Verizon still engages in premium pricing with the Droid recognizing that the cost of switching is higher still for its network participants.
  16. My read on the Droid: It will do well. As a Verizon customer, it gives me an "app phone" at much lower TCO than switching to the iphone.
  17. Interesting to read the labels of the twitter lists you're on. The school year is busy for me teaching, I'll be looking into lists later.
  18. Google maps is a disaster for things in Ann Arbor. We have street view, but address placement is WILDLY inaccurate.
  19. So, where is the twitter html5 interface optimized for mobile?
  20. All google products could do with some interface redesign with an emphasis on simplification.
