  1. Full size garden roses can have a very light prune now to stop wind rock, tie in your climbers but leave most of the pruning until spring.
  2. Westcoast roses growing in containers can have a light tidy up prune now and should be mulched for winter, or taken into a sheltered area
  3. If you live on the Westcoast and are wanting to prune back your roses for fall, DON'T. Roses need stems and canes for winter reserve.

  7. The City of Vancouver once again proves that it takes the easy and sexy route, rather than doing anything to solve real problems!!
  8. City of Vancouver wants to ban all pesticides ( safe or not), but profits the sale of Tobbaco at every single gas station and corner store?
  9. If the City of Vancouver, was serious about going Green. They would BAN CARS, not easy targets like simple basic home pesticide.
  10. Roses need to be dormant before you dig and move them. Wait until late October, then prune hard, dig and move them as you wish.
  11. October is a great month to foliar feed your roses with Seakelp! This will help them prepare for winter sleep
  12. Roses need a firm deadheading in August to set them up for a superb late summer/fall flowering! If your climate is dry, water them well
  13. Roses Loveeeeeeeeeeee fish fertilizer!!! I dump a full watering can of diluted fish per rose bush and let it splash on the foliage!

  15. Climbers and Ramlbers will be weighted down with flower buds, now is an ideal time to tie them back, keep them trained to their supports
  16. I"m in from planting carrots and lettuce! The roses are growing at a rapid stage now, feeding some extra fish fertilizer will do wonders!

  20. If you choose to spray your roses with an organic or other fungicide now is a good time to apply first spray. Ad some seaklep to the mix!
