  1. Merry Christmas to all! The house is wonderfully silent, and I'm debating on whether or not to put on headphones and play music.
  2. Welcome to Christmas at my parents: every candy dish is out and every candy dish is full. For now.
  3. The most un-Christmasy place in the world is the Dominicks parking lot.
  4. Was hoping to avoid going out again in the rain and crowds. But no!
  5. "Fairytale of New York" is way up there. And Blitzen Trapper "Christmas Is Coming" from a year or two ago, gone missing from my iPod. :(
  6. Song of the day: The Waitresses "Christmas Wrapping". Is there a better contemporary Xmas song? Perhaps, but not many.
  7. My Metropolis latte is redonkulously full. I just wanted to tweet the word redonkulously.
  8. Field Music rescheduled their Chicago show as opener for The Clientele at Lincoln Hall on March 17. Yay! Pro music on amateur drinking night
  9. The day before everyone goes on vacation for the next ten days is a great time to ask where stuff is and when is it going to be finished.
  10. @EmptyBlog Cheers, Kyle. Have a great holiday!
  11. @EmptyBlog I know. My tweet said Christmas Eve EVE.
  12. Song of the day: Detroit Junior "Christmas Day". "I want you to turn up your hi-fi, I want you to turn it up loud!"
  13. Meanwhile, it's Christmas Eve eve, and I'm suitably relaxed and festive, even with a full work day ahead. Shopping complete!
  14. My last tweet was posted 5 hours after I wrote it. I think I was finally off of Congress Parkway by that time. 85 minute commute total.
  15. 20 minutes to go 3 blocks on Congress Parkway. Lots of time to tweet in my non-moving car. 4 lanes to one. Great.
  16. The snow is pretty. Too bad it will all be washed away by Christmas Eve.
  17. Song of the day (and one of the songs of the year): Best Coast "When I'm With You". Because some things can't be said enough.
  18. The headline on the Tribune webpage says it all: "Epic Fail: Bulls blow 35 point lead". I actually predicted them losing at halftime.
  19. Total time at Apple store from walking in to completion of iPod Touch purchase: 4 minutes. That's service! And knowing what I want.
  20. I have a disturbing number of wingnut "friends" on Facebook. Fans of Sean Hannity & Glenn Beck and birth certificate poll takers abound.
