  5. @adkwriter You misunderstood the tweet. I was referring to Jeter as 3rd-most valuable, which is where he finished. Then added the ARod point
  6. @adkwriter I happen to agree with you. I never said I believed it, just that the argument COULD be made. Big difference.
  7. RT @IanMBrowne Will everyone live without a Red Sox-Yankees Spring Training game this year? Rivals will meet for first time on Opening Day.
  8. @JimmyTraina I think you could certainly make the case for Mo, but for me, it's hard to give MVP to a guy that plays in 60 games.
  9. @adkwriter Ah, the old "sportswriters are ignorant" argument. Somehow, nobody ever tells me exactly what I'm ignorant about.
  10. @WillMoller How about his impact on Teixiera? I wouldn't have voted for A-Rod, I'm just saying an argument could be made.
  11. @bclorio No, because his consistency will be rewarded with a HOF induction. All it means is that in each year, someone else was better.
  12. Good debate, but the train is pulling into the station. Have a good night, folks.
  13. I hardly think being called third-most valuable in the AL is a slight. You could argue that A-Rod was more valuable than all; look at record
  14. @PhilipJWalsh Unless the BBWAA creates strict stat guidelines (which would be stupid), voting will always be based on personal opinions.
  15. @PhilipJWalsh So the fans that voted Jeter over Mauer in the Hank Aaron Award know any better? Give me a break.
  16. @PhilipJWalsh Weigh them correctly? In who's mind? It's all a matter of personal opinion. The awards go to the right people 99% of the time.
  17. @StaceGots Tremendous.
  18. Have gotten many emails from NYY fans angry that Teixeira finished higher than Jeter. Here's my question: Who cares? Both had great seasons.
