  1. And now, following true to form, am putting out to Dreamland, ca. 4 AM. Will doubtless be awake in three hours: "What's all this?" Oh. Life.
  2. Efficient use of idleness - computer art, voluminous corresp, recorded synth comp, watched Piaf biopic, read about French Rev. Coffee. End.
  3. Sister-in-law pulled a screaming nutty. She makes me feel perfectly sane, which is unusual. For some reason I am cleaning house.
  4. It does seem that whenever I wake up is too early, though whenever I go to bed is too late.
  5. @ectomo http://www.flickr.com/photo...
  6. Gearing up to watch Disc 2 of La Belle Noiseuse. Or going back to bed. What on earth am I doing up at this hour?
  7. Bibi -- I missed Bloomsday, too, for the second year in a row. Spending too much time in Nighttown, I think.
  8. Trying to decide whether to multitrack on synth or go to bed and count sheep. (Usually room for only one.)
  9. Reading the Library of America Philip K Dick omnibus. I bought all of these when they first came out in paperback. Frightening.
  10. http://www.flickr.com/photo... -- among other diversions.
  11. I was thinking about Greco-Roman pottery, The Microscopic Septet, Esperanto, and whether it's too early or too late to go to bed.
  12. Wondering how seriously to take the "computer failure" warning.
  13. Watched Rio Bravo followed by Red River (both Howard Hawks), which exhausts my enthusiasm for sagebrush this week.
  14. I may be wrong, but I haven't seen the Dawn of the Dead remake. The very word "remake" sounds like unenthusiastic coupling.
  15. Am retreating to an air-conditioned room before I expire along with the computer. I think I'll read the art book...
  16. To break from the math book, which was cracking me, I started reading a history of art. Now I'm reading two books. It always starts this way
  17. Having serious computer problems, which seem to be forcing me to revert to...books. This could have serious consequences for my intellect.
  18. I keep wanting to switch to a light novel but something prevents me from abandoning the aforementioned task.
  19. Reading a large book about the mathematical representation of reality from Euclid through contemporary physics. I understand very little.
  20. "The mother ship! The mother ship!"
