  2. Wildflower walks are available on Sun, May 27th, from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm. Meet at the South Rim Visitor Center. (AP)
  3. Scarlet Gilla is prominent along the North Rim scenic drive, w/Claret Cup at Kneeling Camel and also at Dragon Point on the South Rim. (AP)
  4. Utah Serviceberry is exploding on the South Rim, and Choke Cherry is still blooming on the East Portal Road. (AP)
  5. View eclipse at the SR Visitor Ctr, Sun, 20 May, 5:30-8:30 pm. Solar scopes & eclipse shades available. Next eclipse in Co. in 2045. (AP)
  6. Lupine is blooming on the Rock Point Trail, & most roads, particularly the East Portal. Arrowlead Balsamroot is beginning to fade. (AP)
  7. The Oak Flat Trail is awakening w/Ball Head Waterleafs, Spring Beauties, Paintbrush, Phlox and Groundsel. Marmots have returned also. (AP)
  8. Best wildflower show is along the Rim Rock Trail, but it's also good at the Painted Wall View, Pulpit Rock and Rock Point. (AP)
  9. The South Rim Visitor Center hours are now 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, seven days a week. (AP)
  10. The East Portal, South Rim & North Rim Campgrounds now have water, but not the Cimarron Campground yet.
  11. Wildflower Walk on the Rim Rock Trail, Sunday, May 6 at 1:00pm. Meet at the South Rim Visitor Center. Easy walk, about 1.5 hours roundtrip.
  12. April 21 to 29 is National Park Week with free entry into all national parks, so come and enjoy the Black Canyon of the Gunnison, free. (AP)
