  1. Turkey duel begins: Alex's dry brined on Weber; my classic butter & canola oil basted in oven; Darran's in frier for last-minute fireworks.
  2. I hear my mom's voice whispering to me: clean house after the party, not before.
  3. Cleaning kitchen in prep for serious cooking. Need helper to peel 10# potatoes. T-Day we eat late because cooking, with others, is so fun.
  4. Own too many books I've never read. Chose 6 of them, in different categories, to read in the next year. Excited, like when I bought them.

  6. Closed the cabin. It will sit at peace, condensing its essence. We will shift to active weekends at home, and dream about next summer.
