They're set in a pile. Some have holes in them, and some have scratches on them that might be designs. Torchstone carefully cleans them.

Still she seems excited by the find. Apparently, garbage is important in her trade. My find is eclipsed when Tom uncovers some stones.

It's hard work. Tedious, but I find it wholesome. I find what Torchstone calls a 'midden'. I was happy until she said it was a garbage pile.
