  1. @ScurvyJake Hard to believe eh? One of my vista VMs gobbles up 4GB. An XP VM grabs 1GB and all the other crap I had open was too much.
  2. @julielermanvt Page Files are for sissies ;)
  3. Oops. Just blew my desktop out of memory. (Disabled page file long ago with 8GB of RAM, but accidentally fired up too many VMs.)
  4. FINE. I'll admit to my shameful habit of listening to techno. But I still have no idea what to make of this cover: http://bit.ly/EXrJR
  5. @JamesShaw LogMeIn on iPhone/iPod is so bleeping awesome though. I love it.
  6. @JamesShaw Yeah, that seems a bit worrisome/creepy in some ways. But you could also LogMeIn to your desktop and RDP from there ;)
  7. @JamesShaw I'm sure you could get on your server. Just need to have logmein installed on web server. I use it all the time to get to my box.
  8. I'm on a conf-call and @Carson friggin IM's me this: http://noahstokes.com/ Best CV/Resume I've ever seen.
  9. USB 3.0. Intel dropped the ball: http://bit.ly/3XZ7Nt Beware bottlenecks hitting full 600MB/sec as per SATA6: http://bit.ly/2bWCJc
  10. Gee, imagine that: more FUD from a security firm: http://bit.ly/1JbECy
  11. @BrentO The answer is "it depends" (though, mostly... the answer is never ;) )
  12. Pricing Increases for SQL Server forthcoming: http://bit.ly/30HAxp
  13. @julielermanvt Thanks Julie for the EF response. Don't envy your jet lag right now ;)
  14. Wow. RT @BrentO: THEY'RE SHRINKING FILES! ZOMG! NOOOO #sqlpass
  15. PLINQO is looking QUITE cool. Looks like it totally addresses all the main pain points of LINQ 2 SQL. http://bit.ly/g8FkD
  16. @julielermanvt How easy is it to pass EF entities between tiers (via serialization)? Linq2Sql makes it fairly tough out of the box.
  17. Oh HELLL NO. The dreaded "Help Update in Progress" from MSDN/VS2008 help system. Guess I'll zip out to the web while MSDN updates for hours
  18. @ScurvyJake It is - you just need to call them and see what their hours are - as they keep goofy hours. Insanely worth the drive though.
  19. @PaulRandal Question is: will you still end up putting your dishes outside the door for housekeeping to take away (while u r at home) ;)
  20. @ScurvyJake Cilantro is evil. That said... Cass makes a wicked Honey/Lime enchilada. mmmmmm enchiladas.
