  16. Bystanders rescued 4 from a capsized boat on the Kenai River. The survivors credited the decision to wear life jackets for their survival.
  17. Record setting temps tempt us to take off our life jackets. Don't do it. Most of Alaska's boating fatalities happen on nice days.
  18. A search is on for a Coffman Cove man, missing after his canoe turned up 32 miles west of Wrangell. He was not wearing a life jacket.
  19. On 6/29, near Pelican, a 57 year old fell from his boat and drowned before bystanders could reach him. He was not wearing a life jacket.
