  3. Just about to have our 5th call with parents who are testing Respect Effect Parenting. :)
  4. @GaneshaXi You had him TESTED for a learning disability? So his grades MATCH his IQ?
  5. Some hyperactive children NEED meds before they can concentrate on things they don't find interesting.
  6. @GaneshaXi Not sitting still is LACK of ability to sit still - ESSENTIAL To succeeding in school. He acts up because he can't concentrate
  7. @GaneshaXi HI, then it's time to teach him how to sit still. Skill training is covered in steps 5 and 6. School success skills are step 7.
  8. Sitting still is a FUNDAMENTAL skill CRUCIAL to success in school. Now, if you could just get your child to LISTEN to your TEACHING him.

  10. @GaneshaXi Does he talk in class, act out, complete his work, have trouble getting along with other children? Does he have friends who call?
  11. @GaneshaXi Sitting still is a basic preparation for school social skills along with making eye contact, taking turns, waiting to speak, etc.
  12. If you have a problem with alcohol or drugs, your child may become dependent also. Can you live with that?
  13. If your child is not staying seated in class, the solution has EVERYTHING to do with your knowing how to MOTIVATE Him. :) Debra
  14. @GaneshaXi Hi there. How old is he and in what grade. What exactly is he doing, how often, and why? Medicated or not. What does teacher say?
  15. @GaneshaXi I'm a HUGE believer in starting the project w a stack of boxes, 1 labeled 4 each major category. Then u know where to put stuff.

  17. @GaneshaXi I just designated a drawer/file box/ or shelf for each category. tools, office supplies, art supplies, gardening supplies, etc :)
  18. @hairaddict_72 REFUSING To buy/bring home anything without getting rid of something else equally large first.
  19. Hello Shannon. 1 shelf, drawer, countertop, closet EVERY SINGLE day. 4 categories/ 4 boxes -Trash, get rid of, replace, move elsewhere.
  20. @hairaddict_72 I think that part of hoarding is a lack of decision making - of what to do with it. That trait is largely linked to ADHD.
