  1. We are trying to get started homeschooling again after Dale's death. Very rough. We did math today and a little phonics. Better than nothing
  2. my twitter is weird. sigh. J and I are spending some time with poetry. Learning about rhythm mostly. Jabberwocky is soooo good.
  3. FINALLY starting A and R on Story of the World. Lesson 1 takes FOREVER to do ergo my procrastination. Never give up; never surrender!
  4. A finished ETC 4 and started 4 1/2; R is taking her math unit test on adding and subtracting1-5's; J takes unit test on estimation tomorrow.

  7. J is learning long division--I'm breathing deeply. R planted 3 bulbs for her bday today.
  8. J and I listened to a 1 hour talk by Jonah Lehrer on "How we decide." We will definitely have to get the book on CD for that!
  9. J is totally enthralled with his 3D railroad simulator.
  10. A and R started piano lessons again. A is almost able to play Ode to Joy; R is just learning to make her fingers do what she asks of them.
  11. R and A is using the bbc website and loving it. J *enjoyed* his reading comprehension task about Amelia Earhart. Woohoo.
  12. J spent most the day watching "Extreme Engineering" which we both find fascinating. They are digging a 43 mile tunnel under the Alps. Gasp!
  13. R played on starfall. I'm looking for help with "ink" (which I found there) and "dr" which I did not. J is listen'g to "Change your Brain"
  14. teaching A to read an analog clock; finishing 5's with R
  15. Ok got the workbook for Spell to Read and Write. Starting A on it today? tomorrow?
  16. Ray is done with ETC 2. I'm going to try another approach to teach her the blends she is weak on before we start 2.5.
  17. Trying to get to the pool today but we are going to finish ETC 2 first. Alex has fallen in love with her new journal and dictionary. :)
  18. Yesterday J ENJOYED the Health/Medicine museum so much he wanted to go back today. Unfortunately, that is not on the agenda til next week.
  19. J, then A, read "The Bachelor and the Bean" by Shelley Fowles. R read three or so books from "Animal Antics" by Nora Gaydos.
  20. Has to be said: www.mindsprinting.com sucks for little kids. For a free set of "problems" it is fine, but teach them from some other source.
