  1. Great first Readercon panel on egocentrism. Who knew Gene Wolfe was secretly a member of the Violent SF Pros club?
  2. @RichardFife Even if intentional, it's lazy writing to have the only funny part of a character rely on stereotype. You need not agree. :)
  3. Bostonians: headed your way shortly for a night at @eclectician's before I head to Readercon in the morning. See you there?
  4. @ocherdraco Oooh, that is neat. Thanks!
  5. @RichardFife I'm not sure I see how acknowledging that folks are sometimes racist excuses you for egregiously acting that way yourself.
  6. Last night's fortune cookie: "If it seems fates are against you today, they probably are." Wonder if that means y'day, or the next 24 hours.
  7. @RichardFife Mm hmm. It wasn't that she bugged me so much as that it was a lazy racist depiction for no reason other than lazy writing.
  8. @barrygoldblatt Yay! Can't wait to hear what you think. :)
  9. Survived prelaunch meeting for my and @pnh's Spring '10 books. On the downside, found out launch is at 9:30 on the day after WorldCon. UGH.
  10. @ethereallad Alas, never got a chance to check replies while there, and I'm home now. Will you be at Readercon?
  11. @themattlondon Possibly, though I think we might just wind up with a really, really long game of Mafia.
  12. Ran into @thejordache in our 5 minutes on DC streets en route to the bus. Our trip has clearly been powered by an improbability drive.
  13. Visiting Bethesda, Friendship Heights, and downtown to see everyone else I know in DC: cousin, oldest friend, once co-Girl-Scout-counselor.
  14. Trudging back to the hotel after a totally awesome several hour game of Mafia.
  15. Today @tastyhat and I completed the SF0 task Six Degrees of Eggs and Bacon by making 6 courses for 50odd people. Now to take a victory nap!
  16. James and I came up with a brilliant plan for a restaurant which only serves evil food, like kittens we've dutifully poked 75 times a day.
  17. On a Bolt bus to Washington, DC for the HRSFA House Party. Woo!
  18. Who else got serenaded by Boba Fett today? http://is.gd/1kwZT (Though he was playing the Star Wars theme when I saw him.)
  19. @darkmagess Belatedly: Mostly. The line is easier on weekdays, and standby may work too. You can also scalp, pay $170, or be a sponsor.
  20. Man, was 12th Night lovely. (Practically perfect, as they say.) I just worry I'm burning Shakes karma with all the great productions lately.
