  1. Home from 9 days in DC, MD and VA followed by 3 days in KY getting cabin winterized. Ben totally swamped at work and I'm buried in laundry!
  2. Last weekend, lots of DC. Yesterday, Virginia Aquarium in VA Beach. Jensen says, "Honestly, petting rays is better than seeing monuments."
  3. My little 2 lb 15 oz peanut is seven years old today. Happy birthday, baby girl.
  4. Just drove 720 miles in 11 hours. Touring Capitol and seeing as much of Smithsonian as possible tomorrow. Any suggestions for kids 6 to 14?
  5. Tomorrow family goes to B'ham for the weekend. Next week we leave for nine days in DC and Williamsburg. Three college applications to go.
  6. Busy going through the kids' summer clothes, packing them up, donating others and then starting on the winter clothes. What a chore!
  7. Heading to Williamsburg for three full days! Thanks, Rhonda! Remind me how much fun we're having after 1400 miles with 4 kids in car seats.
  8. Nope. Change of plans. Decided to go to Nashville's Oktoberfest today instead! Wundervoll!
  9. We're off to the Trigg County Ham Festival at LBL. Racing pigs, hog calling contest and the world record largest ham biscuit. Yee Haw!
  10. We're going to Celebration of Cultures at Centennial Park in the morning! Fun, fun, fun!
  11. This weekend the girls camped with another Scout who tested positive for h1n1 today. I worry about Ephraim. He's such a tiny fellow.
  12. Seven years ago today we finally brought our two girls home from Guatemala. Happy Independence Day to Guatemala and happy anniversary to us
  13. It's time to fill out the college applications. Write, Logan, write. Type, Logan, type. Send, Logan, send. Hurry, Logan, hurry. Sigh
  14. You don't know the first thing about tomorrow. You're nothing but a wisp of fog, catching a brief bit of sun before disappearing.
  15. Just got home after spending nearly 11 hours at the International Fair and State Fair. Thanks, Lauren, for the heads up. It was a great day!

  18. It's midnight. We have to leave for KY by 6am. Oh well. Logan and I scored some cute college interview clothes at Ross and T J Maxx tonight.
  19. Logan and I are visiting 25 colleges over the next six weeks. I'm buying that GPS tomorrow.
  20. Another half pound lost today! Woo Hoo! That puts me over 40 pounds total. I thought I was through, but I'll take the bonus.
