  1. @ubax yes I've gotten rails working with no problem, but this is a new app that has lots of gem dependencies.
  2. my morning on rails: step 1. error, step 2. install gems, step 3. repeat step 1, someone please get me out of the endless loop..

  7. Floating rock islands sure are a trendy design trend right now ( http://twurl.nl/v38mmt ). Seen sooo many of them lately.
  8. @lyndsysimon thanks for the tip. I think I'll throw them an email.
  9. @lyndsysimon started as designer, moved to frontend dev for a company (html/css), then diversified further and got my own clients.
  10. @brian_dailey historically I'm mostly front-end/design. Picking up CakePHP was a breakthrough. Now I'm headed deeper into the rabbit hole.
  11. @lyndsysimon yessir.
  12. @ky purely based on client demand. If client was on django, I would have been installing django right now.
  13. I feel like such a CakePHP-traitor installing rails. However, I want to remain, "Jack of All Trades" and not 100% tied to a specific stack.
  14. Got rails +mysql working on my localhost and on my server. That sucked, but it sucked less than I thought it was going to suck. lol
  15. I wish I could take all my favorite apps and spin them into one custom tailored app... someday I will .. someday...
  16. Realistic jQuery Shadow hover effect ( http://twurl.nl/vdwdv8 ). Nice!
  17. New Article - a JavaScript tip, "Preserving Existing Events in JavaScript" ( http://tr.im/eventtipjs ).
  18. @wycats I'm "decoupling" date, calendar, event, render and datepicker methods with a project called CalendarEngine. =)
  19. Writing the most complicated straight-JavaScript I've written for CalendarEngine. It works well, but it ain't the prettiest thing, yet.
  20. @vitch I totally agree with you there. What is funny is when illustrator updates and I have to close Firefox for some reason, lol.
