  1. 07 Carmen Chardonnay (Central Valley): A ride through the tropical fruit garden. The wheels aren't all balanced, but the ride's a bargain.
  2. 07 Rancho Zabaco Reserve Zinfandel (Dry Creek): Brings great spicy black fruit to the party. Also brings obnoxious drunk friend Petite Sirah
  3. 05 Twomey Merlot (Napa Valley): Here's something A. Dias Blue & I can finally agree on. Dark, dense, powerful, spicy, excellent & expensive.
  4. 08 Twomey Sauvignon Blanc (Napa Valley): Bad vintage, but really good wine. A cunning balancing act of tropical fruit, veggies & minerals.
  5. 07 Napa Cellars Mount Vedeer Chardonnay (Napa): A buttery fruit bomb. But for what it's worth, a fruit bomb with serious mineral action.
  6. 07 Olsen Ogden Pinot Noir (Russian River Valley): The booze may be big, but so is the strawberry action, and that fruit is puuuuuuure, baby.
  7. 07 Verge Syrah (Dry Creek Valley): Excellent vintage & it shows. These luscious blackberries have some funky dirt on 'em - lucky for us.
  8. 07 Saunter Petite Sirah (Napa Valley): Very big, very dark, & very good. Feed this beast some grilled bison steak & roasted potatoes.
  9. NV Pommery Champagne Brut Royal (Reims): Smaller than a breadbox, but somehow they managed to get the entire loaf in the bottle anyway.
  10. 06 Rockaway Cabernet Sauvignon (Alexander Valley): It seems criminal to open it this early. Give it 6 yrs to unfold its multilayered magic.
  11. 05 Kanu Kia-Ora Noble Late Harvest (Stellenbosch): Like almond brittle made with apricot & doused in kerosene. But in a totally good way.
  12. 06 Heron Hill Ingle vineyard Riesling (Finger Lakes): I wanted to stick a straw into this lime awesomeness & just suck down the entire thing
  13. 08 Grooner Gruner Veltliner (Kremstal): Tart, citrusy & very capable intro. to Austria's answer to Sauv Blanc. Unleash it on a salad course.
  14. 07 Olson Ogden Wines Unti Vineyard Syrah (Dry Creek Valley): Like Juggernaut from the X-Men, but made of potent kick-ass red berry fruit.
  15. 04 Carmen Winemaker's Reserve Red (Maipo Valley): VG Bord'x style blend. Sexy, sophisticated, refined, elegant, & pretty darn expensive.
  16. 07 Terra Andina Altos Carmenere-Carignan (Central Valley): Dark Dr. Pepper meets stewed red fruits, and makes quick work of your flank steak
  17. 07 Ventisquero Grey Carmenere (Maipo Valley): Pine cones & cough syrup. With that taste, I should have saved this for when I had bronchitis.
  18. 08 Vina La Rosa 'La Capitana' Carmenere (Colchagua Valley): Crazy good value with cocoa powder, plum & the faintest hint of green pepper.
  19. 07 Cono Sur Vision Carmenere (Colchagua Valley): Trip through the farm! First the barnyard, then thru green peppers, & stop at a berry patch
  20. 07 Vui Manent Carmenere Reserva (Colchagua Valley): The supple mouthfeel will reward you for getting past the overly-green pepper nose.
