10millionwords

  1. I continue to plough my way through "Too Big To Fail" by Andrew Ross Sorkin. This is one really big, dense and interesting book!
  2. 10MillionWords goes live today. Follow and RT at will.
  3. This week's list of bestsellers is out and it contains seven(!) new books. I'm going to have a busy week.
  4. "Too Big to Fail" by Andrew Ross Sorkin looks primed to hit the bestseller list this week. I am intimidated by its 624 pages!
  5. There is only one new book on the bestseller list this week (Read My Pins by Madeleine Albright) but I can't find it anywhere.
  6. I'm now on to "The Greatest Show on Earth" and "The Case for God." I think I'll read them alternately--a chapter or two at a time for each.
  7. And that's the second of this week's five books: "American on Purpose" by Craig Ferguson. Verdict: skip it.
  8. I need to read five books this week. So far I have completed one: "High on Arrival" by Mackenzie Phillips. Verdict: skip it.
  9. This week's list has five(!) new titles on it. One deals with politics, two with God (one for, one against) and the others are memoirs.
  10. This week's challenge: read Ron Paul's "End the Fed," Ted Kennedy's "True Compass" and John Krakauer's "Where Men Win Glory."
  11. Read not to contradict and confute, nor to believe and take for granted, nor to find talk and discourse, but to weigh and consider. (Bacon)
  12. I'm gearing up to begin the 10MillionWords project. It all starts on October 1.
