  1. Avatar: 9/10. This fantasy epic fully immerses you into a new world with breathtaking skill & pioneering visuals. An awe-inspiring landmark.
  2. Amelie: 9/10. A quirky, playful & pretty celebration of life's lovely little pleasures. Dare you not to fall in love with Tautou...Dare you.
  3. Monster: 7/10. A real-life True Romance but with lesbians. An unfeasibly good Theron brings the laughter, tears and pathos in equal measure.
  4. The Crow: 8/10. Drenched in Gothic tones & bursting with feverish energy. This revenge flick is simply awesome and a fitting epitaph to Lee.
  5. Pan's Labyrinth: 9/10. A haunting and unique fairytale with a seamless mix of history, reality and fantasy. Masterful story-telling.
  6. Where The Wild Things Are:5/10. Beautiful & strange, serious & dull. Once the cute kid & his fury friends wear-off it all gets a bit boring.
  7. @Amy_Willis 8/10: This hair-raising handycam horror evokes raw terror & pure dread as the nights roll on. You may never sleep again. Agree?
  8. @HaydenOnFilm No the cinema wouldn't re start it so If anyone thinks Carriers was better or worse than 6 let us know as we missed the start!
  9. Carriers: 6/10. Pine is a compelling lead in this post-apocalyptic road trip. Its bleak, thoughtful but low on intensity & dramatic action.
  10. Had a nice tour around outside VUE cinema. Always good to miss the apocalypse in a post apocalyptic film. Anyone know how Carriers starts?
  11. 10 Second Reviews just missed the first 10 mins of post apocalyptic film Carriers as plonker at cinema did a fire evacuation without a fire!
  12. Flight of the Phoenix: 5/10. This disaster adventure remake is overacted & twee. But it's fun, got good music & you'll be rooting for Quaid.
  13. Coraline: 6/10. A quirky visual feast with tons of little gags and observations. A surreal adventure missing the charm that makes a classic.
  14. The Descent: 9/10. Inescapably claustrophobic & uncompromisingly horrifying. You'll sweat & squeal in this doomed cave trip. A cult classic.
  15. Zodiac: 8/10. An atmospheric, brooding & engrossing take on this real serial killer case. Full of truly tense & tough scenes, just overlong.
  16. I Love You Man:7/10. The underrated Rudd leads a super cast in a simple yet fresh 'bromance'. It boasts sharp timing, warm chemistry & Rush!
  17. @Sirblamkhan We agreed:7/10. A quirky, witty & delicious comedy that'll make you want to travel India by train but possibly an acquired taste
  18. The Box: 4/10. Good until it turns really stupid. A moral concept thriller spoilt by a perplexing storyline that has the audience frustrated
  19. @Sirblamkhan Sorry for the late reply - [Rec] is definitely scary & adrenaline filled but FC is a classy classic. What did you go for? ?/10
  20. Law Abiding Citizen: 6/10. Revenge films are best served violent, tense & a little bit ridiculous. This Butler/Foxx combo doesn't disappoint
